Juno is a Layer 1 smart contract platform built on the Cosmos SDK and connected to the Inter-Blockchain Communication protocol, which allows it to exchange tokens and messages with other sovereign chains of the Cosmos ecosystem. Its verified categories place it within Cosmos Ecosystem, Osmosis Ecosystem, Juno Ecosystem, Evmos Ecosystem and Secret Ecosystem, which signals that its token and its applications are designed to circulate across several networks rather than remain confined to a single chain. The project targets developers who want to deploy CosmWasm smart contracts, a WebAssembly-based environment that is distinct from the Ethereum Virtual Machine, and users who need interoperable finance applications inside the Cosmos perimeter. Its relevance rests on being one of the earlier independent smart contract hubs of this ecosystem, with a launch date of 29 August 2022. The network relies on the Cosmos SDK and the CometBFT consensus engine, a Byzantine fault tolerant design with deterministic finality that delegated validators secure through proof of stake. CosmWasm allows contracts written in languages such as Rust to be compiled to WebAssembly and executed on chain, which…
